Riddim Posse - Reggae, Calypso and Soca from the Caribbean

ridim_posseA few outstanding musicians from Barbados, Trinidad, Tobago and Heidelberg once came together to devote themselves to a music that is a mixture of reggae, soca and calypso. And they did so with an intensity that they then proceeded to convey to the audience in the form of a fever – the Riddim fever – which is guaranteed to bring every dance floor to overflowing.

The Riddims (the rhythms), the Posse (the gang), embody all the joie de vivre and fervour of the Caribbean, with which they have managed to infect audiences in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and even in Turkey. With their ingenuous mix of reggae, soca and calypso, the band transports this joy of life to an audience that has no means of escape. The Riddim virus spread by the Riddim Posse is highly contagious. Symptoms are a breaking out into a frenzy of dancing and an extremely good mood. Seldom does one encounter a band which is able to evoke such enthusiasm through a mixture of Caribbean fire and professional entertainment.

With their single “No Money, No Love“ (which appeared on the label RCA) they immediately shot to 4th place on the SDR 3 listeners’ charts. They have composed most of their songs themselves, but their repertoire does also include Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Third World.
